About me

Lydia Chapman. MBACP, Dip Couns. BSC Hons in therapeutic counselling and supervision, Mental health first aider, Dip Holistic therapies.
I have experience working therapeutically on a 1-1 and group level with adults and young people.

I have had other person centred, client facing roles within a range of charities throughout Doncaster. I can offer you a professional, confidential service within a respectful and non judgemental space in which we can further explore your issues, concerns, thoughts and feelings.
Above anything else I believe in the importance of developing a positive working relationship with you , where you can feel safe and secure

I am an integrative therapist, which means I use a various theoretical models within my work and I have experience in the following areas

My therapeutic approach has a Rogerian core and I believe in the provision of the following therapeutic conditions required for change namely Psychological Contact, Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR), Presence, Congruence and effective communication of empathic understanding to the client or person. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the key to the therapeutic process and the progress the client makes.

I provide Counselling for children and adults UK wide, online and over the telephone. I provide in person Counselling from ‘Revival’ in Bawtry, Doncaster, DN10 6JU.

 

Concessions are available for students, over 65s (evidence of concession may be required)

FAQs

Therapy provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. Your counsellor will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.

Counselling can take different forms depending on your needs and what type of therapy may be suitable for the client and their needs

Each client is unique and individual. However I feel that the environment, and therapeutic relationship is there than counselling can help most people

Counselling can help you cope with: a mental health condition, such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. an upsetting physical health condition, such as infertility. a difficult life event, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

Each session can last up to 50 minutes.

You can pay via bank transfer. I ask for payment to pe paid 24hrs before the session

I understand that life happens,  and hopefully we can re arrange for a mutually convenient time

If you can not attend the session then I require 24 hours notice for cancellation and refund However if it is less than 24 hours I will require payment in full

The cost of the session varies and is dependent on the kind of therapy you require.
